This was my favorite scene from “Dr. Caligari.”  I was more attracted to this movie as opposed to “The Battleship Potempkin” because it was set in a more unrealistic world that used scenes that looked like pieces of art.  Using geometric and organic lines it displayed an artistic balance.   This particular scene was intriguing because of the angular lines and a sense of movement, alongside a somewhat distorted sense of depth and perspective.  Also the black and white, I felt, is much more true to the composition and feeling of the movie and has much more of a dramatic and dark overtone than the color version, and the fact that it was shot in black and white.
